Meet the 2012 Featured Artist

Meet Featured Artist, Ron Dotson:

Ron Dotson is primarily a self-taught artist, having been drawing since childhood.  He has been doing pencil, pen and ink, and charcoal drawings of dogs and other animals for a number of years.  For quite a while he wanted to expand his use of mediums so that he could better illustrate both the animals he portrayed and their environment.

To that end, in September of 2001, Ron participated in an artist's workshop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming featuring master watercolorists Joe Garcia and Adele Earnshaw and oil painter Greg Beecham.  All well-known wildlife artists.

This gave Ron an excellent introduction into the use of these mediums. He continued to improve his painting techniques as well as taking other workshops. Ron's work is now in private collections both nationally and internationally.

Ron Dotson is a Signature member of Artists for Conservation, and member of the San Diego Watercolor Society.
